The HTC Flyer has a magic pen to transform your experience on the large 7 inch tablet device. The magic pen is part of the new HTC Scribe technology which turns all of the touch controls we have become used to using with the latest tablet devices and smart phones back into something to write about.
The magic pen is literally an electronic pen which interacts with the tablet device to enable you to literally write onto the otherwise touch display and the user interface present. As well as wiring, you can also draw, paint and also retouch pictures. When you are reading on the tablet it can also be used to highlight words, which will be collated when you have finished too. You can use it to write onto webpages as you view them in the web browser, highlighting headers and more.
The Flyer experience includes the Sense user interface which brings touch interaction to a larger display than on any previous mobile handsets from HTC. Meanwhile, the Scribe technology allows you to reconnect with the natural process of writing and drawing. It works using a new set of digital ink technologies that simply make it seamless to write and make notes onto the display, and use it in place of touch typing into the device. It is even possible to sign contracts with the pen itself. The Timemark feature that is inclusive with this innovation enables you to also capture on audio recording an entire meeting in conjunction with the naturally written notes you have made. When you tap on the word on your tablet, you are simultaneously taken to that same word in the audio recording.
As well as these features, your notes which you can quickly and easily write onto the device are also integrated directly with the calendar and it automatically prompts you to begin a new note where an appointment reminder appear for a recurring meeting, such as a weekly board meeting, allowing you to continue from where the last meeting finished. There is also synchronisation with the largest notes application and service in the World, Evernote, before any other mobile device on the market.
The HTC Flyer offers a lightweight tablet design which features the power of Android, much as the Samsung Galaxy Tab does. The intuitive and extremely innovative Scribe technology and addition of the magic pen to this device however sets it apart from the Galaxy Tab and other tablet devices in a big way.
